The second round of the Plunderstorm event in World of Warcraft is scheduled to begin on January 14, 2025, according to the in-game calendar on the Patch 11.0.7 Public Test Realm. If these dates hold, players will have until February 18 to participate in the pirate-themed battle royale event and earn both new and returning rewards before it concludes.
Plunderstorm first debuted in World of Warcraft from March 19 to May 1, 2024, and quickly became a fan favorite. During the recent Warcraft Direct presentation, it was confirmed that the event would return in early 2025, though specific dates were not provided. Now, players have an unofficial date for its return, as the PTR calendar reveals the event will run from January 14 to February 18, giving fans just over a month to collect exclusive rewards.
It’s important to note that Blizzard has not officially announced these dates yet, so they could still be adjusted. The event may be shifted or extended, but players can likely expect Plunderstorm to return around this timeframe.

This second iteration of Plunderstorm will feature a few changes. Rather than earning Renown with Keg Leg’s Crew, players will spend loot at the Plunderstore to choose the rewards they want. Additionally, early PTR builds suggest that the trios mode may be removed, though it’s unclear whether this will be the final version when the event launches.
The timing of Plunderstorm’s end date could also hint at upcoming content. February 18 falls exactly nine weeks after the release of Patch 11.0.7 on December 17, aligning with World of Warcraft's recent trend of releasing content updates every eight weeks, with an extra week for the holiday season. This could suggest that Patch 11.1, titled Undermined, will be released right after Plunderstorm concludes, giving fans plenty of exciting content to look forward to in the coming months. |
