A recent leak has hinted at the release window for Phrolova, a character long awaited by Wuthering Waves fans who have hoped to see her become playable.
Players were first introduced to Phrolova during Chapter 1, Acts 3 and 4 of the Main Quest. Like Scar, she is one of the Overseers of the Fractsidus, a group intent on hastening the next Lament. Responsible for the Tacet Discord outbreak, Phrolova’s power was unmistakable. As a confirmed Resonator, with her Tacet Mark visible on her right arm, Phrolova has been a top candidate for an eventual playable release. Now, thanks to a new leak, fans’ wishes may soon be realized.
According to reliable leaker StepLeaks, Phrolova’s banner is slated for Wuthering Waves Version 2.0. Previous rumors suggested that Version 1.4, expected in mid-November, would be the final update set in the Huanglong nation. If the game continues on its regular update schedule, Version 2.0 may arrive around mid-December, making that a potential release window for Phrolova.

The leak also hints that Phrolova will play a key role in the Main Quest as the primary antagonist during Version 2.0. Subsequent patches are expected to extend to Version 2.8, possibly introducing a new nation called Solaris-3. Developer Kuro Games has not yet released official details on Version 1.4, but it’s rumored to feature character skins for Jinhsi and Sanhua, the latter of which may be available for free.
Since its global release, Wuthering Waves has been on a steady rise, nearly matching Genshin Impact’s revenue at one point. Kuro Games has also confirmed a PS5 version is in development, which could further expand its player base. With Phrolova’s popularity, her playable release could draw returning players eager to pull for her. Until Kuro Games makes an official announcement, fans should approach these leaks with caution. For now, players can enjoy the current banner featuring Jiyan or wait for Version 1.3, where new characters Camellya and Lumi are expected to debut. |
